Parent Involvement

Parents are encouraged to become involved in the school.  There are several different avenues available, depending on the type of involvement and the amount of time you wish to contribute.

At the classroom level, your child’s teacher may need help for various activities. You may also be asked to send baking for a class party, or save materials for the art corner.  Meet the Teacher Night in September is an ideal time to find out from your child’s teacher how you can contribute to the school year.

This year we would like to continue having parents as volunteer readers.

Some of our technically literate parents have also helped out by volunteering to implement new software on classroom computers.  We appreciate the extra practice with guided and group reading that these students received from our volunteers.

You can also join the McDowell Home and School. Just call the Office for more information!
